Awareness Campaign - "STOP Publishing Children on the Internet"

During the months of August and September, the organization Nexus successfully carried out the awareness campaign "STOP Publishing Children on the Internet", an initiative designed to raise awareness about the dangers of posting pictures of children on the Internet. This campaign, organized entirely online, was extended to various platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, aiming to reach a wide audience of parents and guardians.

Awareness of Sharenting Risks and Consequences

During this campaign, the main message was a call for caution and responsibility on the part of parents regarding the publication of photos and videos of their children. In an age where technology and social networks have become an inseparable part of our lives, it is important to understand that every photo or video posted on the Internet carries with it numerous risks, from the misuse of personal data to cyberbullying.

Our campaign highlighted some of the main risks associated with 'sharenting' (a term used to describe the excessive sharing of children's photos and information online by parents), including the risk of photos being used for illegal purposes, such as creating fake profiles or misusing them for inappropriate content. One of the strongest messages of the campaign was: "A photo posted today can affect their future tomorrow," making parents reflect on the long-term consequences of their actions in the digital world.

Inspirational and Educative Messages

Our daily posts contained educational messages aimed at raising awareness of children's privacy and safety. One of the most powerful messages was: "Privacy is the best gift you can give your children," emphasizing the importance of protecting their data and images online.

The campaign also addressed the issue of cyberbullying, a phenomenon that can have profound consequences on children's emotional and psychological well-being. Through our posts, we tried to educate parents and the general public about the negative impact that a thoughtlessly posted photo can have, and how it can lead to online bullying, which children can experience severely.
